World Upside Down

Rise and shine, morning starting darker than it should
Empty spot next to me where I wish you would
Bring some delight to my life, through the nights
Instead I guess I'll just reach out for the light

To start the day off right, with just enough sight
To flip the apps and see what lived through the night
Of the living dead, or maybe just work from home instead
In bed

Sometimes I feel like I'm slow-motion falling
Out of control, reaching and sprawling
Upside down, facing the ground
Need to turn it around to be found

But I realize I'm not the one crashing to ground
The world itself has turned upside down
It's upside down, the world's upside down, it's not in your head that your feet feel unsound

It's upside down, the world's upside down, we're living with the weight of bracing the ground
